Although notice this year was relatively short, I'm amazed that there's still places left.

All who attended last year raved about the event. Check the relevant threads under Nationals 2005 in .au if you need any inspiration.

If you can get there, do so. You won't regret it.

I'm driving my wife to Sydney to take her out to dinner at a $180 per head restaurant so that I can then get to Goulburn. That's how desperate I am to get back to the Nats again. :rock:

It is a well organised event with a great bunch of people. There are no egos or attitudes. Just a bunch of guys who appreciate their 8s.

I shouldn't bite but...

It was decided by the organisers (and I'm not one of them) to allow a small contingent of non-RX8's to allow friends of the Aussie RX8 community such as Timbo, Len, Stuart, etc to attend the event. They are not taking any of the 40 allocated RX8 places and will neither share track time with RX8's nor the sponsors booty (so far as I'm aware).

All of these guys have given a lot of time and effort to this event and the RX8 community generally and I'm damn glad they are involved again.

Mike will be there with his 8. You'd remember he was permitted to run the Mini last year because he made the effort to fly over as NZ's sole representative.

I would so like to come and am still trying. I will be the only designer in the studio at work that week and so they have said no way... I do not even get Melbourne Cup Tuesday off! Just very unfortunate timing for me.

I am madly trying to see if they will be happy if I organise 1 or 2 temps, but the directors are still not happy and not many good freelancers really seem to want to work these days!

I have not given up but it does not look good :sad:


Although that said I am very appreciative of the effort some members went to in making allowances for a couple of us ex 8'ers to attend. Thanks guys!
