View Full Version : New mazdaspeed pads installed
Zephyr 10-09-2006, 07:35 AM Well i finally decided to install my pads which i brought overseas like a year ago.
And i went to the guys at Essendon Tyrepower to get it installed, seems to be a popular place to go these days:)
And i also asked about some enkei rims, but seems that there is no shippment coming in for the rp03s, and ricky told me that if i want them i might have to wait 12 weeks for them... oh wellz, there i go to continue on with my rim search.
anyway back to my pads, still bedding them in, nothing much to report for now. a few light squeals if i tried to push the brakes a little harder
seems that i'm following Taka's footsteps with his mazdaspeed obsession :rollingla

i'll look back into some rays, so many rims to choose from... such a difficult choice
takahashi 10-09-2006, 08:35 AM I am sure you will like it.
I am waiting for my Wedsports. I dunno if I can show you this Sat. The wheel will be at the shop any minute and I just checked my slicks are there!
So I guess when it arrives, I will need to be sick to make it happen for Sat.
Won't that be fun having semislick up the MtDandenong

Especially if it rains :sadwavey: :tear: :yesnod:
takahashi 10-09-2006, 10:48 PM I think neither will happen - rain or the wheel. :(

Hey Taka, I have to talk to you about tyres when we go to Mt Dandenong. Have really crap tyres on at the moment. Sliding around all over the place even in the wet. And before anyone says anything, no it's not a good thing. Can't even build up any decent speed around corners. Keeps losing it too quickly. But I won't be putting any slicks or semi slicks on. Just want some good sticky tyres for driving around on the roads.
MissyK 10-11-2006, 12:11 AM oooooo tyres ;)
get goodyear F1s lol or if u want to spend about 600bux per tyre, get what taka has, michilans
Revolver 10-11-2006, 12:36 AM I have the Michelin PS2's as well and think they're worth every penny (although I wouldn't be unhappy if they dropped the price a bit!).
There's heaps of tyre info in the Wheel, Tyre, Brake and Suspension forum.
It's a question of budget for most.
Vangelis 10-11-2006, 01:46 AM Yep, budget is the issue. 600bux per shoe is definitely out. Thanks for the tip revolver, I'll check out the tyre forum.
ILIV48 10-11-2006, 02:09 AM I recently replaced the Michelin Pilot Precedas on my MX5 with the new Pirelli Dragons. These cost me approx 35% less than a set of new Precedas and to be honest feel just as good on the road with just a fraction more noise but not by much!
A lot of V8 ute boyz are putting them on as they offer great traction for very reasonable price. Mine cost $230 each for 215/40 17's
MissyK 10-11-2006, 02:28 AM lol lots of interesting convos this sat nite is all i have to say!

takahashi 10-11-2006, 05:39 AM PP2 is worth a try as per ILIV48. If you can pay, get PS2.
