I almost got mine out today since the 3 inches of ice on my driveway is mostly melted.

I live on the Missouri side, but I work in OP. I've only owned my 04 since November, so I'm pretty new to the rotary thing. And being a chick, I never really thought about motor stuff before, but I am learning to take care of my new baby. I'd be up for a meet... maybe get some tips on keeping her running smooth.

Btw, did anyone else suffer any damage from last week's hailstorm? I seem to find new dings every day... *sigh* I've got two good ones on the hood and two on the roof, possibly more.

Thanks for the welcome... Yes, Tuesday's weather is looking good... was planning to get the bike out that day! I actually got it out yesterday for a few hours in the afternoon. It's going to be a difficult summer having two toys to play with! =P

As for a meet, we should plan it a few weeks in advance, see if we can get the word out. I actually saw two 8's in the same day on Wednesday - a TiGray one and a Silver one. So I know they're out there!

Well wenever we do it i'm free on tuesdays and wednesdays maybe monday just let me know.

P.S. what kinda bike do you have?

webgrl
03-09-2007, 11:12 AM
I have a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja EX250. I got it last year as my very first bike, so I wanted something small and manageable. By summer's end, I had put over 3000 miles on it, and the top speed of 110 didn't seem as fast as I once thought. =P So I am thinking of upgrading to at least a 500, but I imagine I'll be putting most of my funds into the 8 for now, which means a bigger bike may have to wait till next year. Do you ride?

Pretty cool you ride webgrl. I would like to get a bike someday but its not in my immediate future.

Maybe we can get something together in April?

webgrl
03-12-2007, 09:56 AM
Oh yeah, this week's weather is perfect for riding. I rode in to work this morning and even at 7 am, it wasn't too cold. My brother got his bike going again (needed new tires), so I imagine I'll be on mine a lot. At least at 60 mpg, it makes up for what I lose in the 8!

An April meet sounds awesome. I would prefer a Saturday meet, but it sounds like rotaryfan04 prefers a weekday. What day works for you?

Anyone else checking in on this forum should chime in, too. I would like to get the ball rolling and start getting the word out. I'm finally ready to start doing some mods to the 8 and I'd like to see what everyone else has done.

I just started thinking....maybe we can do dinner sometime on the weeknight so Chris can make it and maybe we can plan for an all car meet at SMP with some Oklahoma Joes BBQ in April? Have everyone interested chip in for some BBQ and shelter? Hang out and eat?

Does that sound good?

webgrl
03-12-2007, 10:12 AM
Yep, I could do that. The first weekend in April is Easter, so should we shoot for the second Saturday, April 14th?

As for the weekday dinner, I play soccer on Wednesdays, so any other day besides that is good. Monday or Friday is my best bet, but I would be okay with Tue/Thur if it works better for other people. Chris - you wanna pick a date for that and let us know?

Tirminyl

OT- What soccer team you play for?

webgrl
03-12-2007, 10:32 AM
My company sponsors our team. We ain't great, but we have fun. We play at All American Indoor Sports. That's actually where I saw the silver 8 last Wednesday. It had Missouri plates, which was unusual since AAIS is at 87th and Rosehill in Lenexa. Then again, I have MO plates, and I was there... =P

of april, but if the meet is around noon, i could stop by for a little while.

Terminyl - looked up the team on the AAIS website - looks like they are in the other division of Wednesday coed, so we don't play them this session. Maybe next!

Noon meet works for me... Any objections to Saturday, April 14th, noon, at Shawnee Mission Park?

Chris, you wanna start a new thread for the weeknight meet and I'll start one for the Saturday meet? Just so people don't get confused about which one they're signing up for.

And as for the locale, some place like Buffalo Wild Wings would be cool.

I don't know if us other Mazda owners are cool enough to hang out with the 8 crowd, but several of us in other Mz3/Mz6 forums has organized a mini meet tonight around 8:30-9:00 (whenever KU games ends). We're gathering @ the Sonic on 135th and Blackbob in Olathe. Probably headed to Incredibowl afterwards because I like bowling and beer is good.

If anyone is interested, hope to see you out!
