Just a side note.....that little charmer referred to being afraid of Camry's at stop lights. This I believe is from a post where someone "claimed" to have been dusted by a Solara.

For 1....this is probably a "whatever car owner" who never stepped foot in an RX8.

I say this because My last car was a 2000 Solara SLE V6.
I can assure you...there is NO WAY this happened. The V6 is a 200 HP in a very heavy car with an automatic. I drove the shit out of that thing for three years and was very aware of its limits.

I barely have enough time to keep up with the informative posts in this forum (would be quicker without troll crap). I definately dont find the need to go to a 350Z forum and post grossly inaccurate and immature tid bits.....all because REALLY i would love to own one....but instead a jelouse rage comes over me.

You guys will never stop battling...

Its a disgrunted 350Z owner or S2000 owner that couldn't wait for the 8 and this is their only way to rationalize their mistake. To take every single problem ever listed for an RX8 and roll it into a song that they can sing themselves to sleep with. Its pathetic, but funny. I personally can't recognize any of those problems. Whatever will make them feel better and get on with their lives. Look how fast Mr. Blue 350Z came up with another verse, after a one mile test drive. PA, F_-KING, THETIC.

I doubt it's an S2000 owner. Those guys are cool in my book. Whenever I have crossed paths with one in either my FD or 8 we have always exchanged a thumbs up. My neighbor drives a 350z and he's cool. He was going to buy an 8 (owned an FC) but couldn't wait a year.

I did have a run in with a 350z owner a few weeks ago. I gave him a thumbs up, he replied by cutting me off and flicking his cigarette at me. When we came up to a light I exchanged a few words with him. That's when I came up with my theory that some Z owners bought the car to compensate for a few inches in the manhood department.

Blue 350z: My post was intended to test my theory and so far I'm batting 1000. Honestly, I'm not losing any sleep over what you said, say, or will say about the RX-8 or me for that matter. I bought the car as an enthusiast. I guess it makes you angry knowing that others like me can go out and buy an RX-8 /w less HP/torque for more money than your Z and enjoy it. I'm not a religious man but you guys are like the Jehovah’s Witnesses of the car community.

Sound to die for
Neat Notchy, slick gear change
Get the right gear and you're well away
(in fact that's half the fun)
Cool interior and view that make's you feel good
You think you're doing 50 when you've hit 100
The body may roll (slightly), but the chassis is a babe
That flat torque curve is just soo soo cool ....
3500 to 8300 rpms give approx the same torque ....
a bit like one of those high-speed elevators that gets you to the top floor before you knew it.

AND ... back doors and seat and a decent boot

Umm, is this the right tread? Is that the best you can do? I see nothing about a Max beating a Z.. And also the Max is very fast for a 4 door (I would bet my life a 6-Sp Max would hand you rx-8 people your ass anyday) but its not as fast as a Z.. About .5 slower in the 1/4 mile, most stock Z's I see run 14.1-14.3 in the 1/4 and most manual max's I see are running 14.6-15.0 in the 1/4..

Also look at the facts, how could it be faster? The Max is 300+ LBS more and has 22-32 less HP depending what year it is..

And BTW, I had the tranny problem, I dropped my car off in the morning at the dealership, got a rental for the day (A new murano) and got my car back at the end of the day good as new with a smile.. Its called warrenty.

But you people are stuck with your missing 40HP, no warrenty or dealerservice is gonna fix that!

The Max has the same engine, right? detuned, right? 2 more seats, correct? mmmmm....could the engine output be boosted to the same as a Z, do you agree??....so, 1/2 a second slower for just 30hp and 300+ lbs & front wheel drive as well.

I would think a Maxima might (would) smoke an 8 (very likely)...however, let's shift to your Z right now....thus, according to you, the 8 is a worthless vehicle. So, I guess you could tell us how does it feel to know a 4 door sedan can get you at the strip...and that you overpaid for a 2 door + 2 seat Maxima...

A base 287hp Z starts at $26k, a base 2??hp MT RX-8 starts at $27k..... I don't think any $27k stock sedan can beat the Z up to death, especially not THIS sedan. :p To make the argument more 'stats' intense, here are some recent specs of family sedans:

Absolutely, those of us who purchased '04 models are stuck with 40hp less, no warranty will cover that. Although we are getting some slack cut from the Scheduled Service.

Stuff that means nothing, you mean when someone complaints that about their transmission being ripped out?

Or a paint job that's not all that good?

Hey, I get a loaner as well...under warranty....big deal.

As far as recovering HP goes.....there will be 'fixes', not likely from Mazda and, heck!, they may even make the car non-compliant with emissions. But you should know better than that, the car is fresh out the oven and it will take some time until someone comes up with parts for it.

Who knows what might happen in a couple months, years..? Things might get better eventually.

However, this is not the point I was going to. I just wanted to show a little of the dirt the Z had (has) on its first year.....

2nd-- Yes they are the same engine (max and Z), but the extra HP comes internally and cannot be recovered without VERY expensive engine work, and you are comparing a PURE SPORTS CAR to a Sporty Family sedan, speed is ONLY a very small thing between these to cars..

3rd--How old are you BTW, You seem to be talking like a 16 year old that has no idea about cars. Comparing wrong numbers, prices, comparing a sports car to a sedan. What is with you people and seats also? I have no need for more then 2 seats in my car, and if there is a need for more, I have LOTS of friends that have cars. I am done with this convo, I cannot argue with people that know nothing about cars and are attempting to compare modded sedans now vs sports cars and throwing in wrong numbers in the middle of it (a base Z costs 26k, not 35k). Its like arguing with a mentally challanged person about what 1+1 is..

I think he was just commenting your statement that a Z is $35k instead of $26k. (which it is.... if you get a loaded track model) Anyhow, I didn't know the Z and 8 cost so similarly and that a RX-8 costs more than a Maxima. :eek: I guess Nissan knows how to crater to the power hungry bigger-is-better American public.

I know, and I was out of line...35K for a loaded Z....actually $34,720 without any of the options (Navigation, Dual Front side impact airbags, and the floor mats and its asortment.)

Yep you have a deal for the France for Canada (dreams of Foi Gras, Froglegs, beautiful french women, and Burgundy). Canada is just kind of there, they don't really do much but make the worst music know to man, and their beer isn't that good anymore :p

The G35 is a Skyline in Japan, and the GTR version is going to make it's way to the states in a year or two.

Guess it all really depends on the 8, and how they 'fix' (yeah yeah...nothing's broken...) the engine's power output for those that care a 'lot' about it.

Or, if they plunk a rotary into a Miata chassis....but I don't think they'll dare to do it until a couple years go by (like you said). And production is justified.

Why not~ dammit! Stick the Renesis in a Miata and call it a RX-5, it'll sell like a HOT HOT CAKE. Hell, I think a rotary Miata will sell better than both the future RX-7 and RX-8 combined. Rotaries are so small you can probably fit it on a Harley, there is no reason not to put one in the Miata.

Note to Mazda designers: Let's try to make the Miata less 'cute' this time around, ok? ;)

Old Speckled Hen is already here, I just want more damnit! Ok back to the original deal. Please deliver France, the Eddie Izzard DVDs, and the UK spec 22B STI to Milwaukee Wisconsin by Friday afternoon. Should you fail to deliver we have no choice but to let the Germans destroy all of your cities again only to swoop in and save you from their grasp 3 years later.
