Vince Napboy 08-30-2003, 08:32 PM This is pretty damn funny. I love my car, but this is pretty true. I just can't believe someone spent the time to do it. This I believe is from a post where someone "claimed" to have been dusted by a Solara. For 1....this is probably a "whatever car owner" who never stepped foot in an RX8. I say this because My last car was a 2000 Solara SLE V6. I can assure you...there is NO WAY this happened. The V6 is a 200 HP in a very heavy car with an automatic. I drove the shit out of that thing for three years and was very aware of its limits. I barely have enough time to keep up with the informative posts in this forum (would be quicker without troll crap). I definately dont find the need to go to a 350Z forum and post grossly inaccurate and immature tid bits.....all because REALLY i would love to own one....but instead a jelouse rage comes over me. sometimes I feel like I'm talking to a bunch of 17 Y/O punks who still think its cool to burn rubber in front of the high school and drink beer through a funnel. ggreen29 08-31-2003, 09:27 PM Let's have function follow form. RX8-U-UP 08-31-2003, 10:22 PM Its a disgrunted 350Z owner or S2000 owner that couldn't wait for the 8 and this is their only way to rationalize their mistake. To take every single problem ever listed for an RX8 and roll it into a song that they can sing themselves to sleep with. Its pathetic, but funny. I personally can't recognize any of those problems. Whatever will make them feel better and get on with their lives. Look how fast Mr. Blue 350Z came up with another verse, after a one mile test drive. PA, F_-KING, THETIC. Superfan 09-01-2003, 12:55 PM I doubt it's an S2000 owner. Those guys are cool in my book. Whenever I have crossed paths with one in either my FD or 8 we have always exchanged a thumbs up. My neighbor drives a 350z and he's cool. He was going to buy an 8 (owned an FC) but couldn't wait a year. I did have a run in with a 350z owner a few weeks ago. I gave him a thumbs up, he replied by cutting me off and flicking his cigarette at me. When we came up to a light I exchanged a few words with him. That's when I came up with my theory that some Z owners bought the car to compensate for a few inches in the manhood department. Blue 350z: My post was intended to test my theory and so far I'm batting 1000. Honestly, I'm not losing any sleep over what you said, say, or will say about the RX-8 or me for that matter. I bought the car as an enthusiast. I guess it makes you angry knowing that others like me can go out and buy an RX-8 /w less HP/torque for more money than your Z and enjoy it. Is that the best you can do? I see nothing about a Max beating a Z.. And also the Max is very fast for a 4 door (I would bet my life a 6-Sp Max would hand you rx-8 people your ass anyday) but its not as fast as a Z.. About .5 slower in the 1/4 mile, most stock Z's I see run 14.1-14.3 in the 1/4 and most manual max's I see are running 14.6-15.0 in the 1/4.. Nice try, but read the friggen tread before you link to it.. Maybe you won't look so dumb next time Also look at the facts, how could it be faster? Ha Absolutely, those of us who purchased '04 models are stuck with 40hp less, no warranty will cover that. Although we are getting some slack cut from the Scheduled Service. Stuff that means nothing, you mean when someone complaints that about their transmission being ripped out? Or a paint job that's not all that good? Hey, I get a loaner as well...under warranty....big deal. As far as recovering HP goes.....there will be 'fixes', not likely from Mazda and, heck!, they may even make the car non-compliant with emissions. But you should know better than that, the car is fresh out the oven and it will take some time until someone comes up with parts for it. Who knows what might happen in a couple months, years..? Things might get better eventually. However, this is not the point I was going to. I just wanted to show a little of the dirt the Z had (has) on its first year..... Comparing wrong numbers, prices, comparing a sports car to a sedan. What is with you people and seats also? I have no need for more then 2 seats in my car, and if there is a need for more, I have LOTS of friends that have cars. However, I had it with this thread. Answering #1, go to the first post I replied to from you. Answering #2, comparing same power plant. Answering #3, who is being childish?....how old are you? 30+.. I am done with this convo, I cannot argue with people that know nothing about cars and are attempting to compare modded sedans now vs sports cars and throwing in wrong numbers in the middle of it (a base Z costs 26k, not 35k). Its like arguing with a mentally challanged person about what 1+1 is.. aussie77 09-02-2003, 12:32 PM Have an 8. Love it to death. rankly I feel sorry for anyone who owns a 350z and feels the need to come over to these forums to make fun of our cars. Yes, Blue 350z I'm talking about you. But don't worry.. maybe one day you can get an RX-8... or a life :) RX8-TX 09-02-2003, 12:38 PM Originally posted by Blue 350z I am done with this convo, I cannot argue with people that know nothing about cars and are attempting to compare modded sedans now vs sports cars and throwing in wrong numbers in the middle of it (a base Z costs 26k, not 35k). Or, if they plunk a rotary into a Miata chassis....but I don't think they'll dare to do it until a couple years go by (like you said). And production is justified. Hell, I think a rotary Miata will sell better than both the future RX-7 and RX-8 combined. Rotaries are so small you can probably fit it on a Harley, there is no reason not to put one in the Miata. Note to Mazda designers: Let's try to make the Miata less 'cute' this time around, ok? ;) Ike 09-02-2003, 06:10 PM Originally posted by Skyline Maniac Why not~ dammit! Or had a french beer?? beer & sex & chips & gravy : now we're talking!!!!!:D :D The smelly French woman is highly exagerated, as long as you pay top dollar for them they're not smelly at all. And even the french are smart enough to not drink their own beers, they drink Heinekin (vomits at the thought of 1882). Is that sex you mention with a brit girl, cause they're cold enough to air condition all of France (I think I just solved the smelly french girl crisis). Your "chips" are FRENCH FRIES aka pomme frittes, and the fish is nothing more than a good ole american or german fishfry with some nasty tasteless conconction the brits call gravy. I will not fall for your rues! :p Now back to the deal, I want some old speckled hen and boddingtons thrown in to the deal to, you do that and I'll plant a flag in Puerto Rico as well. Our chips are definately NOT pomme frites you wouldn't find a frenchy cooking his chips in a nice bit of beef dripping!!! ( oh crap I think I may have opened a doorway for a "beef" blast!!) & if you're so willing to take the French mad: off our hands then the Boddingtons in with the deal. Not sure that you could handle the Old Speckle Hen though that puts hairs on your chest (especially when you are all used to BUD LIGHT!!!!!!) So I think we'll pass on Puerto Rico):D :D Evil Weevil 09-03-2003, 07:28 AM Bud's OK if you're out of lemonade but I'm happy with my Waggle-Dance (and a hey-nonny-no) myself. And bring on those Canadians... at least their women shave their armpits... I could put up with a small odour problem if the benefits were out-weighed... but under-arm, hair? NO! Ike 09-03-2003, 11:41 AM Hmmm, how bout cheap Mexican labor in exchange for the promise of Elizabeth Hurley not acting anymore and not allowing Boy George to ever cross onto American soil again? Ike rich606 09-03-2003, 03:21 PM I think that we've got every nationality of cheap labour already thanks to our so stingent immagration laws!!
